Theme: Healthy Liver = Healthy Life

A team of Specialist Doctors- Transplant Surgeons and Hepatologist, Nurses and staff from department of Pathology conducted free consultations and checkup in Liver diseases and Hepatitis in a week long Special Liver Awareness camp from 25th July to 30th July. The main objective of the camp was to bring about an increased awareness of Liver Diseases, early detection and timely care of Liver diseases and promote healthy lifestyle habits.

425 patients were screened. They were offered free consultations and screening for Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C. Liver function tests were done at a 50% concessional rate.  During the camp a special educational interactive seminar was organized. About 100 people attended the program and enthusiastically participated in the Q & A part of the program. Information about Hepatitis A, B, C, Fatty Liver, progression of Liver diseases and Liver Transplant was given in detail. A film on Organ donation was screened on the occasion.

17 people were found Hepatitis B positive and 7 Hepatitis C positive. Adequate counselling was provided to these patients. Concessional Hepatitis Viral load evaluation coupons were provided and guidance provided for treatment.
