CARDIOLOGY OPD SERVICES:

Following Services are available in Cardiology OPD. Patients asking for any of the following services will be referred to Cardiology OPD 2 Floor SS Building.

  • Cardiologists Consultation : -- Adult and Paediatric Cardiology
  • Stress Test. (Stress Thallium is available in nuclear medicine department)
  • 2D Echo, Cardiac Colour Doppler,Transoesophageal echocardiography.( TEE)
  • Contrast Echocardiography,Dobutamine Stress Echo
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Measurement ( BP Holter )
  • Ambulatory ECG ( ECG Holter)
  • Paediatric And Neonatal Cardiac Consultation & Echocardiography
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Services
  • Heart Failure Clinic, Point of care tests like ProBNP,BNP
  • Arrhythmia and Pacemaker Clinic –All Pacemaker related check-up etc.
  • External loop recorder ( ELR)
  • Cardiac Surgery OPD & Post operative dressing, stitch removal
  • For Old Building – Currently Cardiac Echocardiography Service is available only for indoor patients

  • Graft Angiography and Angioplasty.
  • Percutaneous transluminal septal myocardial ablation (PTSMA)

  • Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator ( ICD) -- implantation

Monday to Thursday and Saturday : 10 am to 1pm

Friday : 3pm to 5pm

Chest pain Clinic – Cardiac Bay :

Location: Emergency Department --Cardiac Bay. Works 24 x 7Who should visit this Cardiac Bay:--

  • Patients having Chest Pain or heaviness with or without arm pain, upper back and jaw pain.
  • Difficulty in breathing, suffocation
  • Uneasy feeling and restlessness
  • Excessive sweating
  • Upper abdominal discomfort
  • Chest discomfort
  • Blackouts and dizziness

Who Will Attend:

  • A team of Emergency Medical Experts and emergency nurses, DNB Cardiology Clinical Associates. Cardiology Consultant as per the need.

Treatment offered:

  • Emergency Medicine doctors will examine the patient and determine need for suitable investigations if any.
  • ECG will be done
  • Blood sample for Day one lab and Cardiac Enzymes will be taken.
  • In the event of abnormal ECG or Cardiac Enzyme reports the patient will be admitted.
  • If the reports including ECG are normal the patient will be kept under observation in emergency department. At the end of four hours ECG and Cardiac Enzyme test will be repeated. Following normal reports the patient will be discharged. If the reports show any abnormality then he will be admitted.
  • In case of acute myocardial infarction Depending on urgency of further treatment the Cardiology Clinical Associate or the Emergency Physician will advise Primary Angioplasty or thrombolyis. In such circumstances the patient will be admitted in Coronary Care Unit.
