International fellowship
Update
The Department of Radiology at Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital now offers a 6 month International cross-sectional MSK fellowship in order to provide the visiting (non-Indian) radiologist with an opportunity for personalized advanced training in musculoskeletal imaging.
A comprehensive, individualized exposure will be provided in state-of-the-art imaging and intervention in an academic setting.
The fellow’s responsibility is to be present during the clinical work day and reporting of CT and MRI examinations and observation (only) of musculoskeletal ultrasound and interventional procedures under the supervision of the consultant radiologists.
The fellow will also be expected to be involved in the Department academic and research activities.
A customized timetable is to be followed as per the fellow’s training requirements along with the time table of the existing fellows.
Disciplinary action: The fellowship is liable to be discontinued without any prior notice if any unlawful / disruptive activity is committed and proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
Requirements for application:

Must be a registered radiologist in their home country.

Must have completed a residency program with necessary qualifications in Diagnostic Radiology.

Must be proficient in spoken and written English language

Must get required permission from the MCI and requisite local authorities (as per guidance provided by the hospital from time to time).
Currently, a single fellowship is offered during the academic year for six month period. The fellow joins the Dept as an observer for a month prior to the actual training module of 6 months begins. He / She will be evaluated and promoted to the actual fellowship provided he / she completes department criteria for the same. If not found adequate, the fellowship will be passed on to the next available candidate.
Tuition fees is 3 lakh INR plus GST for the entire duration of the observership-fellowship, which is payable in person at the beginning of the period of observership. If the fellowship is not offered after this period for any specific reason, a refund of 50% of the amount is provided. If however the candidate discontinues after the fellowship period begins, he / she will be liable to receive a refund upto 2 months and only upto 30% of the amount. Beyond this period, no refund will be provided in case of discontinuity for any reason.
The fellow does not receive any stipend for the period of observership or fellowship.
Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital does not provide financial support for housing, travel, or living expenses.
PLEASE DO NOT make international wire transfers / credit card payments etc before the commencement of the fellowship.
Note: Program participants will not be granted clinical privileges or have a medical license in India, so cannot have hands on patient contact.

FAQs
Can I do 1 year fellowship?
Yes. The international fellow can continue the 6 month fellowship programme for another 6 months and he/she will be granted 1 year certificate. Upon completion of 6 moths the fellow has to pay the stipulated fees for the next 6 months.
Is the fellowship accredted by university?
Accreditation of fellowship is under process. However, the course is not yet accredited. Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research itself is a level 1 trauma, tertiary, academic health sciences centre, with over 1000 beds under one roof. The Royal College of Surgeons of England has accredited the post-graduate training center for academic excellence.
