Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital regularly conducts two days Hands on Training workshop in “Core Skills In Laparoscopic Surgery” for interns, trainees and registrars from General Surgery, OBGY and Urology.
Aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge about laparoscopic surgery, hands on training and knowledge of equipments, instruments used for laparoscopic surgery.
Learning objectives of the course are basic skills as

To develop hand eye coordination.

Dissection of tissue.

Roeder’s knot and intra corporal knot tying.

Continuous and interrupted intra corporal suturing so as to get good

tissue approximation.

Dissection and ligation of tubular structure.

Getting familiar with camera and instruments.

Appropriate use of instruments.

Ergonomics.
Ample time is provided on skill stations to achieve the objectives.
Supervision and feedback by experts.
At the end of the course, assessment of every participant is done to evaluate achievement of learning objectives.
